Bar Person/Apprentice Required
If you are between the age of 19 and 25, then you have the opportunity to apply for the above position.
I require an apprentice bar person to work alongside me here at The Galway Bay Irish Pub, Innsbruck, Austria. I am also willing to discuss the position with experienced persons within the bar trade but this is not essential as full training will be given. Only apply for this position if you are intending to make a career in the pub business for the long term. You will need to be of outgoing personality, disciplined, hard working, diligent, motivitated and willing to embrace this new challenge and opportunity.
Apprenticeship:
This will take a minimum of 2/3 yrs to learn and gain experience in all aspects of the trade. If you have experience and good working habits withing the trade, then your situation will be different. You must be aware though that the business here in Austria is very much service orientated, i.e serving to tables and also bills paid at tables also. Its not like most bars in Ireland where customers order and pay for there drinks at the bar.
Language:
German: You will have the opportunity to learn a new language and picking up basic german would be an important requirement but english is spoken by the majority of the clientel.
Training:
You will be trained in all procedures of the day to day running of the business incl. service, ethicate, stocktaking and ordering, technical and cellar workings, health and safety, bookeeping etc etc.

This will also be discussed at interview but good to excellent for the right applicant who shows that he/she has what it takes to make it in this competitive business.
